We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely circa 1930’s copper ice or Champaign bucket with the King Henry IV armorial crest coat of arms on the front.
A very good looking and well-made piece, this was a souvenir item in the 1930’s made in Pau the south of France, Birthplace of King Henry IV in 1553, it’s like a Victorian grand tour piece. It’s been allowed to decorate pieces with his crest since 1829 to acknowledge his birthplace.
This is naturally hand hammered, you can see the naivety of the work which I absolutely love.
