Large French Wicker Harvest Basket

Beautiful oversized grape pickers antique French basket in a beautiful long shape. These baskets were designed around 1870 to 1890 to be carried on donkeys and were used in Burgundy for grape picking.

Possibly crafted from hazel or cob nut wood which can be found in the hedgerows of rural France, it is in good vintage condition with a great shape and rigidity.

A very decorative item that would make a stunning statement on the kitchen table, on a side table or even on top of a cupboard.
