Unknown Antique English Victorian Cast Iron Painted Stick & Umbrella Hall Stand

This is a fine quality antique English Victorian painted cast iron stick & umbrella hallstand, circa 1890, in good original condition. The stand comprises a cast ring sat atop a diamond shape upper frame, which also features protruding spear tips, a large central cast flower and is connected to a twist ring umbrella support. Below, the diamond shaped upper frame joins to a vertical lower frame. Both sections of the upright frame display profuse cast iron floral open fretwork. The triangular pediment with clover leaf shaped top and carved face & leaves, above two carved panels depicting mythological creatures, intersected by a gadroon carved support bar. The upright frame connects to the rear of a floral and geometric design moulded base, which retains the original drip tray. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.

This item retains the original black painted surface, which is in good condition.

This Victorian cast iron umbrella hall stand is in good and original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The black paint is in good overall condition, with some small amounts missing around the base (see photo). There are no missing pieces or breaks to the cast iron. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
