Early 1960’s British teak hat and coat stand in the style of A Younger
We’ve seen this design from time to time over the years , but this is the first one we’ve had one for sale . It’s not labelled , but looks as if it could be a John Herbert design for A Younger , but although nicely made it’s just not quite solid enough to be them .
Hallstands were very common in the early 20th century as they worked well in British terraced houses built before the First World War Plain versions in oak were made in the 1930’s , but not in such large numbers and only a few designs like this one were produced in the 1960’s so there aren’t many around .
Condition report:
It’s in good vintage condition with no obvious damage or marks , just the minor signs of wear that you have to expect on any vintage piece if you look very closely .
